Fall renewal notices are on the way.
Summer is officially over, which means it's time for fall renewal notices. You may have already received yours; if not, you should be receiving it soon. If you haven't yet renewed your CFS software, please consider the following benefits of renewing now:
- Avoid the stress of having to place your order when your office and ours are at their busiest.
- Resolve potential software or hardware problems before tax season begins by installing and testing your software early.
To log in to your MyCFS account and renew online, click here. To take advantage of the Tax Research offer, type "FREE TR" in the Special Instructions box that appears at the end of the checkout process. If you have already renewed, thank you for doing so—and thank yourself for making your life a little easier this tax season!
* To be eligible for this offer, you must renew next year's software by October 31, 2011. If you have already renewed and want to take advantage of the offer, please contact us here.
Don't forget to inspect your order!
When you receive an order of tax forms or supplies from us, please make sure that you inspect it immediately. Verify that we sent the correct items, and that there is nothing you forgot to order. Keep in mind that items may be damaged in transit.
Damages or discrepancies must be reported within 14 days of receiving your order. Our supplies return policy covers you for 30 days, but tax forms cannot be returned for refund after December 15th.
W2/1099 and Payroll Corrector are available for download.
W2/1099 and Payroll Corrector 2011 have been released and are available for downloading.
If you have already purchased and installed 941/940 or LivePayroll 2011, you do not need a CD or a full program download to install either W2/1099 or Payroll Corrector. Simply select "Update from the Web" from the "Internet Options" menu of Payroll System 2011 or select "Software Updates" from the "Downloads" menu at TaxTools.com to download and install from our web site. However, you must also update your license code. Your license code changes whenever you purchase new software; you can always obtain your current license code by logging in to your MyCFS account.
For tips on using W2/1099, including detailed instructions on how to obtain and update your license code, see the Year-end Forms Filing Tips for W-2s and 1099s video on our Instructional Videos page.
Note: CDs and forms starter kits will be mailed in October or November to those customers who are to receive them.
Arizona Special Assessment on UI Wages
Arizona legislation passed in July imposes a Special Assessment on UI wages retroactively to 1/1/2011. Payment for the first three quarters is due 10/31/2011. In addition, all employers subject to UI are also subject to the JTT effective 7/1/2011. The JTT tax rate for all Arizona employers for quarters 3 and 4 was changed to 0.5% for use on the revised UI tax form. This rate reflects the combined JTT (0.1%) and Special Assessment (0.4%). More information on the Special Assessment can be found on the Arizona Department of Economic Security website.
Revised versions of Forms UI-018 and UI-020 have been released and included in the latest Payroll System update. If you have Payroll System 2011, make sure you have updated to the latest version containing the new forms by using the "Update from the Web" option within the program, or click here to download the update manually from our downloads page.
News for New York Customers
Lately, we have been receiving a lot of inquiries about Form NYS-45. The new form has been released, and it is included in the latest Payroll System update. If you have Payroll System 2011, make sure you have updated to the latest version containing the new form by using the "Update from the Web" option within the program, or click here to download the update manually from our downloads page.
We also receive a lot of inquiries about e-file capability for our NY Sales Tax Preparer software. As you are probably aware, the state currently uses a manual web-entry system, which means we cannot program our software for automatic e-filing. However, the state has announced that next year they will begin working with vendors to develop a file-upload system. At that time, we hope to be able to develop e-file capability for NY Sales Tax Preparer. Stay tuned—we'll keep you posted!
It's seminar season!
Tax seminars are extremely important to our business. They keep us informed of changes in the industry, allow customers to give us feedback, and give us the opportunity to demonstrate our software to potential customers so that they can see for themselves how well our programs work. Customers who purchase CFS software at a seminar benefit from our generous seminar discount plus free shipping. For a list of some of the seminars we are attending this season, click here.
