TaxToolsRecent Enhancements to TaxTools
There are over 300 modules in TaxTools, including forms that are regularly revised, as well as tax tables and other data that must be updated each year to ensure that calculations are accurate. And each year we add new modules and/or features to the program. If you have not renewed TaxTools recently-or if you have never ordered it-here are some recent enhancements you may be missing:

  • Social Security Optimizer selects the optimum ages to start benefits for singles and married couples. It also uses advanced claiming techniques to optimize lifetime benefits for married couples.

  • Retirement Income Withdrawal Planner helps to optimize the order of annual retirement withdrawals from taxable, tax-deferred, and tax free accounts. Lifetime withdrawal plans are determined in conjunction with optimized social security benefit start ages and annually calculated federal and state taxes.

  • Penalty and Interest Calculator calculates the late filing and late payment penalties and interest for various types of returns.

  • Affordable Care Act forms, calculators, and worksheets, including calculators for the Employer Mandated Coverage Penalty, Individual Mandated Health Insurance Penalty, and Individual Premium Credit, and a Small Business Health Care Tax Credit Worksheet.

  • Foreign address support. Fields were added to the client database to support the foreign address fields added to many federal and state forms.

  • More pre-set states in Tax Planner. Until now, unless you were in New York or California, you had to manually enter the tax data for your state in order to project state income tax with the Tax Planner. As of this year, tax rate schedules are included for most states that have income tax, as well as New York City and District of Columbia. In many cases, programming has also been added to calculate unique state exemptions, deductions, or credits.

If you've never used TaxTools, now is the best time to start: order by May 31st while renewing your other CFS products, and take advantage of your first-time-purchase discount and our 2-for-1 special to get both 2015 and 2016 TaxTools for 30% off the regular price of one year!

Don't Forget Your 30% First-Time-Purchase Discount!
LivePayrollIf you renew your CFS products by May 31st, you can take 30% off any first-time software purchase. Is there a CFS program you've been thinking of trying? If so, now is the time.

For example, are you looking for a simple, reasonably-priced payroll program? CFS LivePayroll makes it easy to process payroll-either actively or after-the-fact-and file all of the necessary payroll tax returns. LivePayroll automatically calculates wages based on the employee's annual salary or hours worked and hourly rate, federal withholding, state withholding, local withholding, Social Security, Medicare, and other payroll deductions. The program allows you to customize income, tax, and deduction items for each employer, and print paychecks on blank check stock, preprinted checks, or as pay stubs.
And last year we added direct deposit!

Schedule D ToolsOr maybe you're struggling with the complicated new Schedule D reporting rules. If so, you might want to try Schedule D Tools. Schedule D Tools keeps track of clients' cost basis in stocks across multiple portfolios. Reports include a fileable Form 8949, as well as a Realized Gains and Losses report to produce the net amounts needed for your tax preparation software. Schedule D Tools allows data entry throughout the year for high volume traders, generates reports to facilitate mid-year tax planning, and calculates and correctly reports complicated wash sales-even same-day and cross-portfolio wash sales. Transactions can be exported as CSV files for import into popular tax prep programs. Free Data Entry version can be given to clients to enter their own transactions.

Renew by May 31st and take advantage of the 30% first-time-purchase discount.
